Monroe County Drug Task Force

The Monroe County Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional organization comprised of over 60 law enforcement officers from various agencies within Monroe County.  Police officers from the Barrett Township Police Department, the Pocono Township Police Department, the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department, the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, the Delaware Water Gap Police Department, and deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office participate in the Task Force.

Each officer is sworn in as a Special County Detective, granting them authority in drug enforcement cases under the auspices of the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.

As the drug epidemic crosses all municipal boundaries, this permits the officers from the Task Force to effectively enforce the Commonwealth's drug laws without the constraints of working solely within the primary jurisdiction of the individual police departments.

The Barrett Township Police Department is honored to be a member of such a professional multi-jurisdictional law enforcement organization.
