Barrett Township offers residents several opportunities for recreation and enjoyment of our beautiful environment.  Please respect the rights of others in your use of our facilities.  Click on any of the pictures on this page to see a larger view.

High Acres Park

High Acres Park is located on Route 447 north of Canadensis.  The park consists of several acres of land, and includes many different amenities.  The Park offers visitors 3 separate pavilions for picnics or other activities, as well as a baseball field, a basketball court, a children's play area, and a fishing pond.

The pavilions are available to be reserved for your private party or event.  Please contact the Barrett Township Supervisors at (570) 595 - 2602.

    Baseball Field

 The baseball field at High Acres Park is located at the southern-most end of the park.  While it can often be found being used by our local little league, feel free to hit a few balls when it's free.

     Basketball Court

The basketball court is located at the northern end of the park, just beyond the fishing pond.  Stop in and shoot a few hoops, or challenge some of the other residents in the park and showcase your basketball prowess.

   Pavilions  

High Acres Park has three separate pavilions for you to use for picnics, parties, or other events.  Two of the pavilions are located near the south end of the park, close to the baseball field and children's play area.  The third pavilion is located near the park entrance and the fishing pond.

The pavilions are available to be reserved for your private party or event.  Contact the Barrett Township Supervisors at the Township Building or by telephone at (570) 595 - 2602.

At each pavilion there are numerous picnic tables, benches, charcoal grills, and trash cans for your use.  Please be sure to leave the pavilions in the manner which you found them and place all trash in the trash cans.

Restrooms are available near the southern pavilions on the other side of the parking area.

Children's Play Area

The children's play area is located at the southern end of High Acres Park, near the baseball field.  There are many items for your children to play on, including a slide, monkey bars, see-saw, and other jungle-gym type items.

The children's play area is located conveniently near two pavilions and the restrooms.

Fishing Pond

The fishing pond is located just inside the entrance to High Acres Park, near the basketball court.  The pond contains several species of small fish, and many children can often be found fishing there.

Please remember to obey all Pennsylvania laws regarding fishing while using the fishing pond.  Swimming is not permitted, as there is no lifeguard at the fishing pond.  Please use the pond safely and remember to share it with your fellow park visitors.
